Entry is the easy part

EU citizens with proof get in free, and everyone else pays €1.50. What you need to solve is the journey. The site is 8 kilometres from Córdoba on the A-431 and you can't park next to the ruins: all vehicles stop at the museum, and a shuttle bus runs from there throughout opening hours. Keep your ticket for the ride.

Without a car

The archaeological site points to a municipal tourist bus that leaves from Paseo de la Victoria twice a day, Tuesday to Sunday. Confirm times and price with Córdoba's tourist office before you rely on it.

The alternative is a tour with transport. You're paying mainly for the journey and the guide, and the commentary helps: without it, ruins this size only half make sense. Check whether the price includes the shuttle.

Opening hours and summer heat

Start at the museum, where you collect your ticket; groups of fewer than 10 don't need to book. It's closed on Mondays, except before a public holiday, and on Sundays and public holidays it ends at 15:00.

From 21 June to 20 September it opens Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 24:00; at night you only see the archaeological area. That's the best slot for avoiding the heat.
