Start with the big two

The Guggenheim and the Fine Arts Museum, which now calls itself Bilbao Museoa, are an easy walk from each other. Give each one half a day.

For local history, try the Euskal Museoa. It opens 10:00–19:00, or 10:00–14:00 on Sundays and public holidays, and it's closed on Tuesdays.

Free Tuesdays and the joint ticket

Tuesdays at the Fine Arts Museum. Bilbao Museoa charges nothing on Tuesdays, 10:00–18:00. Other days it's €12 (€6 reduced), and under-18s don't pay.

Joint ticket. €16 covers both museums, and you have four days to reach the second one. Visiting on a Tuesday? Skip it: pay for the Guggenheim alone, whose price changes with the date, and use the free day at Bilbao Museoa.

Bilbao Bizkaia Card. This combines public transport with perks at museums and attractions. It suits you if you'll be moving around a lot. For two museums in the centre, do the sums first.
