On Tuesdays, 10:00 to 18:00, free entry to the Atrio Arriaga, Bat 1, Bi 2, Hiru 3 and Lau 4; the Agravitas building and the other permanent exhibitions are closed that day. Always free for under-18s and Friends of the Museum, and also for teachers, journalists, unemployed people, people with a disability, accredited guides and ICOM members.

Tickets are booked on the museum's website. The ticket office closes half an hour before closing.

What a free Tuesday gets you

Nothing to pay on Tuesdays, 10:00–18:00, but only part of the museum opens. You can enter the Atrio Arriaga and Bat 1, Bi 2, Hiru 3 and Lau 4. The Agravitas building and the other permanent exhibitions stay shut.

If the extension is why you're coming, go on another day and pay the €12, which covers the collection and temporary exhibitions. The €6 reduced ticket applies to over-65s, students under 25, large families and groups of more than 15 people, among others.

What Agravitas adds

The extension by Norman Foster and Luis María Uriarte adds 6,000 square metres. Its main gallery, BBKmuseoa, is an open-plan space of 1,500 square metres, and the lower floor holds the Design and Architecture collection. The museum now opens north towards Gran Vía and south towards the Ría, the city's estuary.

Visiones de Ultramar runs until 24 January 2027, and Balerdi. La línea infinita until 14 February 2027.

Timing your visit

It opens every day, Mondays included. Sundays end at 15:00. Monday to Saturday except Tuesday, the building stays open until 19:00 but the collections only until 18:00. The ticket office closes half an hour before the museum.

Until 30 November 2026 there are free guided tours lasting 40 minutes, or an hour on Sundays, with 20 places. Sign up at the ticket office 30 minutes before. The audio guide to the collections is free as well.
