Check the league calendar first

Bookings on match weekends can be moved because of the date or kick-off time, and also because of first-team training. If Saturday's your only day in Madrid and Atleti are at home, have a backup plan or pick a weekday.

The club can also suspend or change the visit without notice. If that happens, tickets are valid for another date.

Your own pace or a fixed start time

There's a €7 difference per adult. The self-guided tour lets you set the pace, while the guided one starts at its set time, so you have to be punctual. For €5 online you can add an audio guide, a middle option if you go without a guide but want context.

Leave yourself time: last entry to the stadium is two hours before closing. Arrive late and you'll rush the stadium or end up with only the museum.

Summer visits and the missing pitch

Between the end of La Liga and the week before the first home match there's no grass, and stadium events can change the route. Without grass, the photo from the dugout loses a lot.

Parking and the way in

The entrance is on the stadium's shopping promenade, next to the official store. The west car park, off the Paseo de los Colchoneros, is free except on match days. If you're coming without a car, the club publishes a map of metro and bus lines on its website.
