Shops by day, terraces by night
The site stays open until midnight for most of the year, but from November to February the shops close at 18:00 and the Museo Fran Daurel at 19:00. If you're coming for the craft workshops and to see the 117 architectural reproductions in daylight, arrive in the morning or early afternoon.
Evenings suit you better if you're after terraces and dinner. There's a separate night ticket on the official website; check what's still open before you pay. It won't work on Mondays or for part of the winter, when the site closes at 20:00.
Advance ticket, family pack or ticket office
Buying ahead saves €1.60 per adult. For two adults and two children, the €42 pack beats both: bought separately you'd pay €46.80 in advance and €52 on the day.
Over-65s, students, large families and Tarjeta Rosa holders should head for the ticket office, since those rates aren't sold online. The audio guide costs €3.50.
Montjuïc in one day
MNAC and CaixaForum are on the same hill. The joint Poble Espanyol and MNAC ticket costs €20, against €26.40 if you bought both separately in advance.
