Saturday gives you the longest free evening
MACBA is free from 18:00 on three days, and they aren't equal. On Thursdays and Fridays outside summer it closes at 19:30, so you get an hour and a half, and the galleries start clearing at 19:15. Saturday runs until 20:00, which makes it the one to pick if you want a particular exhibition.
The first Sunday of the month is free all day, 10:00 to 15:00. Scheduled guided talks are free that day too, if you book.
Paying? Start with the museum website
The official website sells at €13.50, below the ticket office price. If you don't need anything else, that's the cheapest option, so compare it with third-party sellers before you pay.
Your ticket is activated at reception and lets you come back for a month. With a few days in Barcelona, you could see the Collection one day and a temporary exhibition another. The digital guide is free and runs on your phone.
Free with a family card
Large and single-parent families get in free with their card. Other groups go free too, so check the full list.
