Making the most of the free days

You don't pay on the first and third Sunday and Monday of each month. Watch out for Sundays in winter: from 1 November to 31 March the palace closes at 14:00, and the ticket office stops selling 45 minutes earlier. For an afternoon visit, choose the Monday.

The palace warns that you may have to wait to get in at the busiest times.

Tours in Spanish, tours in English

The guided tour costs €2 more than the general ticket: €9. Departures are at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 15:00 and 16:00, in Spanish only. The special guided tour costs €12 and includes the palace's hidden areas.

GetYourGuide sells the tour with entry at a higher price. It's worth it if you want English, since the official offer has no such option, or if you'd like it bought before you arrive.

Scanners, lockers and under-14s

Under-14s can't enter alone. Bags go through a security scanner, and there are free lockers with a refundable coin. Tickets carry a date and time. If an area closes for maintenance, the palace gives no discount or refund.

If you have time left, see the other museums in Zaragoza.
