Free Sunday tickets are in person only
You can't book the free Sunday visit online. You get the ticket at the Puerta del Príncipe ticket office from 17:00, it depends on the liturgical calendar and capacity is limited. Time is tight: the full visit takes an hour and a half and the Cathedral closes at 19:00 on Sundays. That covers the essentials, not a slow look round.
Which door you use
Buy online and you go in through the Puerta del Lagarto. Buy at the ticket office and it's the Puerta del Príncipe, also called San Cristóbal. The visit begins with the Giralda, which has its own entry check. The time on your ticket only applies to getting in: you can stay until closing, but once inside you can't leave and come back.
Online saves €1
The gap is €1, and buying on the official website spares you the queue and secures your time. Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout sell the same visit at a mark-up. They make sense if their terms suit you better, if you want a guide, or if you'd like the Alcázar in a single tour.
Rooftops, stained glass and guided tours
The official website sells 90-minute guided tours from €20, plus a €1 online fee: Cathedral and Giralda, rooftops or stained glass. The rooftop tour is the most unusual, because it takes you round the building from above. Its insurance only covers under-70s.
Limited visits in December
From 4 to 7 December 2026, because of a congress of brotherhoods, you can only visit the Giralda and the Fons Pietatis exhibition. There are no ticketed visits on 8 December. The climb is covered on the Giralda page.
