Which card you need

Each card includes a different Alhambra visit. The 72h and 48h cards carry the general day ticket: Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Generalife. The 24h card includes only the Palaces at night. The Gardens card gets you the Alcazaba and Generalife, without the Palaces.

The Alhambra areas must be visited on the same day. The other monuments can be visited once each, without booking, while the card is valid. Validity runs in full consecutive days: 4 for the 72h card, 3 for the 48h, and 2 for the 24h and Gardens cards. The 72h card adds more places, such as the Palacio de Dar al-Horra.

What it takes to break even

The 48h card costs €55. The general Alhambra ticket on its own is €21, so you need €34 in monuments: five at €7, such as the Cathedral, bring you to €56. It also includes nine city bus trips, at €1.60 each, and one ride on the tourist train, at €7.20. If you'll use those, you need fewer monuments. EU citizens already get the Bellas Artes, Casa de los Tiros and Museo Arqueológico free, so those don't count.

The 24h and Gardens cards cost €50, and those Alhambra visits are worth €12 on their own. To recover the cost you need five €7 monuments and a bit more, such as the Parque de las Ciencias at €10.

When Alhambra tickets run out

The tourist board keeps a batch of tickets for the card, so there may be some when normal sales have ended. If you need the Palaces by day, look at the 48h or 72h card.

Before you pay

It's a named card and you'll be asked for ID at the Alhambra. Without the “print at home”, on paper or on your phone, you can't use the included services. Bus tickets have to be collected before use. The Planetarium and Biodome at the Parque de las Ciencias are extra, as are a guide and audio guide at the Alhambra.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Granada Card?

€60 for the 72h card, €55 for the 48h and €50 for the 24h and Gardens cards. The Kids card, for ages 3 to 11, costs €13.

Does the Granada Card include the Nasrid Palaces?

By day, only the 72h and 48h cards. The 24h card covers the Palaces at night only, and the Gardens card doesn't include them.

Can you change the date on a Granada Card?

No. You choose your start date and Alhambra day when you buy, and neither can be changed.

Can you get a Granada Card when the Alhambra is sold out?

You may be able to. The tourist board reserves a number of tickets to sell with the card, even when normal sales are sold out.

Is the Granada Card worth it?

The 48h card pays off if you do the general Alhambra visit and five €7 monuments, or fewer if you also use the nine bus trips.
